£5 AI-powered indoor cricket training opens in the Black Country

To celebrate the opening, £5 taster sessions with an expert are available until Sunday 1 November, making it an ideal half-term activity.

AI-powered indoor cricket training and simulation technology has opened its doors in the Black Country encouraging young cricketers to get involved in the sport despite winter weather restraints.

HiTZ Cricket has brought AI-powered training and simulation technology to the Black Country, with a brand-new lane at Stumps Indoor Sports Centre in Dudley.

HiTZ Cricket is a rapidly expanding network of technology-driven indoor cricket training facilities founded by Dominic Reed in 2024 and was launched to solve cricket-based problems including frozen outdoor nets in winter, sessions rained off in summer and a lack of bowlers.

The new lane opened yesterday (29 October) and is HiTZ's second West Midlands site, following the opening of its Birmingham venue, which has welcomed nearly 1,000 players since January.

James Ward, head of operations at HiTZ, said: “It’s been brilliant to open our doors in the Black Country and see so many local cricketers stepping into the lane for the first time. The West Midlands has such a strong cricket community, we knew there was real demand here.”

Kevin, who also participated in the launch day said: “Here I can just come in, train by myself and set the session up exactly how I want it. The number of balls I faced in an hour is probably three, four or five club net sessions’ worth. If I’m struggling against a left-arm seamer during the season, I can set up that scenario here and drill it.”

To celebrate the opening, £5 taster sessions with a HiTZ Expert are available until Sunday 1 November, making it an ideal half-term activity.

Players can book online and it is suitable for anyone aged 10 and over, from juniors and club cricketers to those returning to the game.
