Applicant Sohib Hussain had hoped to convert the remaining part of the old Samra Social Club into an eatery.

The plans were first submitted in 2021, and at the time included opening hours of 11am to 4am seven days a week.

But the hours were reduced to close at 11pm Sunday to Friday, and 1am on Saturday nights.

The plans said the development would have provided a boost for the local economy and created ten new jobs.

The former club closed a number of years ago and part of the building was taken over by a clothes shop but the rest of it has stayed unused.
