Outgoing chairman of Dudley Conservative Association defects to Reform UK claiming Tories have 'abandoned their values'
The outgoing chairman of the Dudley Conservative Association has defected to Reform UK.
Sat K Sherwani, also known as Sat Khan, has also resigned as deputy chairman of Black Country Conservatives and fired a broadside at his former party on his exit.
He said: "I have served the Conservative Party for many years as chairman of Dudley Conservative Association and deputy chairman of Black Country Conservatives, giving hundreds of voluntary hours to support a party that was once the party of Winston Churchill, but not anymore.

"The Conservative Party has lost its purpose, abandoned its values, and no longer represents the hardworking people of this country. That is why I have joined Reform UK, to help bring our nation back to its former glory under the leadership of Nigel Farage, our future Prime Minister. Only Reform UK has the courage to speak the truth, defend our borders, protect our freedoms, and put Britain first."
Former Conservative Dudley MP Marco Longhi, who defected to Reform UK earlier this year, welcomed his former office manager to the party.

He said: "I'm delighted to announce that local man Sat Sherwani, my former office manager during my time as an MP for Dudley, has joined Reform UK. Sat’s campaigning expertise, leadership and communication skills will be a huge asset to the party locally and beyond, and an equally large loss to the Conservatives Party.
"I'm confident he'll make a significant contribution to Reform UK and help drive positive change, the significant change that Black Country people so badly deserve and need."
Ray Nock, former Sandwell Council Conservative group leader and interim chair of Reform West Bromwich, said: "I’m pleased that such an experienced and well respected member of Dudley’s Conservative Association team has decided to join us. Sat’s skill set will be a great asset to Sandwell & Dudley’s Reform teams in the run-up to next year’s local elections."
The Conservative Party confirmed Mr Sherwani did not seek re-election of Dudley Conservatives at last month's AGM meeting.
