'The country is watching you,' Nigel Farage tells Staffordshire's new councillors as he targets the rest of the West Midlands
Reform UK leader Nigel Farage told Staffordshire's new council administration that the outcome of the next General Election rested on their shoulders.

During a visit to the county buildings in Stafford, Mr Farage said the nation would be watching whether the council could demonstrate Reform was ready for government
He said the common perception was that the West Midlands would determine the outcome of the General Election, and said the party would be going all-out to target other councils in the region.
Mr Farage said the magnitude of the party's success in Staffordshire was monumental, but said it also meant they would have to deal with major problems.
"I'm going to say this to you without putting too much responsibility on your shoulders, but how we do will materially affect what happens in the next General Election.
"We know there are huge problems, one or two problems that appear quite intractable, such as social care, and we understand that it's not easy for anybody.

"Come the next election, people will say, 'you're good at campaigning, you may have a fresh approach, but you don't have any experience of government'.
