West Midlands Police have warned that they will be using stop and search powers tonight (October 30) from 5pm.

Section 60 powers allow police to stop and search people without the need to have reasonable grounds.

The powers will cover Birmingham city centre, Sparkbrook and Soho Road.

The powers will run until 1am tomorrow morning in Soho Road and Sparkbrook, while they will run until 3am in the city centre.
