March 4, 1966. The opening night of the Star Bingo and Social Club, at the Clifton, in Bilston Street, Wolverhampton, presentations were made before the first game. Here Mr Hubert Stone is being presented with a life membership ticket for being the oldest man present. He was 77. Making the presentation is Mr G Batty, area manager.

June 6, 1966 - After an unsuccessful struggle, lasting for two years, to get an 'unsightly' adventure playground removed from behind their houses, residents of Linden Close, Bentley, near Walsall, have now brought the matter to the attention of Walsall housing department. A spokesman for the department has said that if the complaints are justified there could be a change in policy from that of Darlaston Urban Council. The playground is no more than 20ft away from the lounge windows of some of the maisonettes in Linden Close.
