New images show difference made from work to repair Wolverhampton roundabout

The roundabout has been given a new lease of life after the works were completed.

New photos have shown the difference made to a city roundabout after improvement works.

Wolverhampton Council has released before and after images of the Stafford Road Three Tuns Island to show the work done as part of the council’s £10 million highways project.

The island was closed overnight from August 19 to August 21 to allow for the work to be completed on the previously pothole-riddled road and the results can be seen on the after image.

A spokesman for Wolverhampton Council said: “Stafford Road/Three Tuns Lane island is looking much better following resurfacing and relining.

“It is part of the council's ongoing highways improvements to make journeys safer and smoother for all.”

Councillor Bhupinder Gakhal, cabinet member for city transport, said it was another key route being resurfaced which was used by thousands of motorists.

He said: "We've already completed work on major routes including Chapel Ash island and Ring Road St Georges along with many others in recent weeks.

"This is another important step in boosting journeys for all road users across the city."
