Give me a spare!
Thank you to the AA patrolman who helped me get home at the weekend.
A nail punctured a tyre which left me stranded as there was no spare and apparently no emergency foam to pump the tyre back up and get me out of immediate trouble.
I did feel rather embarrassed when he found said foam hidden away out of view in the boot when he arrived within an hour of being called but he said it was not an ideal way to get back on the road again. A thought echoed by me who while appreciating the need to cut costs, believes lack of a spare is very short-sighted and not at all safety conscious. Even space-saver tyres are better than no tyre or a can of foam that may or may not work (and they have failed twice on me before).
He sorted out an emergency repair, warned me not to drive above 50mph to get the short distance home and to get a new tyre on as soon as possible.
Thank you to the AA and the man from Kinlet.
