West Midlands police were originally called to the site of the £5 million dealership at around 1.30pm on Wednesday, with reports of threatening behaviour towards staff.

The police, however, said no criminal offences had been committed and advised the land owners to get a court order to evict the travellers.

Around seven travellers turned up at the site on Stafford Road just after 12pm in a caravan and told police they planned to stay.

The entrance to the site was then temporarily blocked by a police and staff car, with the Porsche dealership turning away customers despite remaining open.

Soon after, metal blocks were placed across the entrance of the site, to prevent more travellers joining.

Yesterday afternoon the travellers left the car park with the police dog unit called to support their removal.

Management at the Porsche showroom in Wolverhampton have refused to comment.
