Mexico camper van murder: Police confirm victim as former local resident Adam Coleman

One of the bodies found in a burnt-out camper van in Mexico is that of a surfer originally from a village near Kidderminster.

Mexican officials have confirmed that two bodies found in a the van in north-western Sinaloa state last month are Adam Coleman, who grew up in Cookley, and Dean Lucas.

The two 33-year-olds were last seen alive on the night of November 20 in the town of Topolobampo.

They were planning to travel to the city of Guadalajara when they disappeared.

Mexican police have arrested three men in connection with their murder.

Police officials said the three confessed to killing the two surfers when they fought back during an attempted robbery.

Two more suspects are still at large.

Mr Coleman lived in Cookley until his family moved to Australia when he was aged six.

He ran his own landscape gardening and pest control businesses.

His brother Danny, who lives in Kidderminster, said after the van was found: "Adam is such an amazing guy who lives life to the full."

Adam Coleman's father Ian said: "We are trying to piece together the events which led up to this awful tragedy."
