395-year-old Wolverhampton pub finally reopens after water leak beneath golf course is repaired

A 390-year-old country pub near Wolverhampton has finally reopened after being forced to close at one of the busiest times of the year.

The Barley Mow, on Penn Common, was forced to close at yesterday (Sunday) morning after a water main burst beneath the 18th hole on the neighbouring golf course.

The pub was forced to close while the water was turned off for repairs, but was finally reconnected this afternoon (Monday), allowing the kitchen to reopen at 5pm.

Richard Wellington, general manager of the pub in Pennwood Lane, said he was relieved that the problem had been solved.
