'I have not been told the reason': Tories suspend their deputy leader on Wolverhampton Council

Councillor Wendy Dalton, who represents Merry Hill ward, said she was told of her suspension from the party on March 9, but was not given any reason for the decision.

"To date, I have not been provided with any explanation, evidence, or detail regarding the reason for this action," she said.
"This lack of communication has been especially difficult as I am currently recovering from major surgery.
"The uncertainty and absence of information have added significant stress at a time when I am focusing on my health and wellbeing. I believe that every member deserves transparency and fair treatment, and the prolonged silence has left me feeling increasingly isolated and concerned."
Councillor Dalton, who has represented the ward for five years, said she would co-operate fully with any process or inquiry.
"I will continue to support the residents of my ward, Merry Hill," she said ."I simply ask for clarity so that this matter can be resolved swiftly, fairly, and with respect for the impact it has had on me personally."
A spokesman for Conservative Central headquarters said Councillor Dalton had been suspended by the local association in line with its constitution.
