'It's incredible how much we've done and continue to do for children after all these years': Celebrations for Wolverhampton charity helping children to live their dreams for 25 years
It's been a time for celebration and a chance to look back over a quarter of a century of creating life-changing dreams for seriously and terminally ill children for a Wolverhampton charity.
Promise Dreams has been marking a quarter of a century of hope and unforgettable memories for families across the country.
Founded on February 21, 2001, Promise Dreams was launched with a symbolic balloon release at St David’s Court in Wolverhampton, followed by celebration drinks at Acorns Hospice in Selly Oak, Birmingham, where the charity presented a cheque to help kick-start its early donations.

From the outset, the charity carried a vision of having the lowest possible costs to ensure the maximum amount of money raised went specifically to help children and their families and continues to provide that same vision today with two members of staff operating from a small office with many fixed costs donated by local companies.
The charity has gone on to deliver 1,910 dreams to date, with a target of reaching more than 2,000 dreams by the end of this year, and has raised in excess of £5 million to support children and families when they need it most.

Charity manager Nikki Yeomans has been part of the charity at different times over the last 25 years and spoke of her own personal pride at seeing the charity reach such a special landmark.
She said: "The word I would use to describe the anniversary is incredible, considering that we started as a tiny charity and, 25 years later, we still are.
