'Please rid our streets of the pothole nightmare - it's costing us money,' say Wolverhampton motorists
Motorists across Wolverhampton complaining of vehicle damage have called for speedy efforts to fill potholes and repair crumbling roads.
In the last few days Wolverhampton highways crews have filled in deep holes at a mini-island in Stowheath Lane following a string of incidents over the weekend when up to 10 cars had punctured tyres. The council said the road is due to be repaired under its £10 million scheme.
Stowheath Lane resident and Claire Fennell, aged 57, a nurse, said: "The hole at cost me £240 because my BMW dropped into it twice in January and it cost me £120 each time. I was driving down the road in the dark and I hit the pothole I heard a pop and it was my tyre. Two days later I heard a brag and when I looked another car had hit the same hole.
"It's terrible."

Another resident Simon Evans, aged 47, a carer, said there were ongoing issues with potholes at the mini-island junction with Thornton Road as well as traffic issues with parents trying to navigate parked cars in the narrow side street to drop off and collect pupils from East Park Academy.
"I reported this hole two weeks ago and the highways people came and took videos. Somebody hit it last night and smashed all his wheel and broke his tyre. His mom took videos of it. The alloy wheel was damaged and the tyre was damaged in three places." Mr Evans said.
