Wolverhampton domestic abuse charity thankful for 10 years of support from city events venue after latest funding boost
A Wolverhampton charity helping women and children affected by domestic abuse has offered thanks to a city events venue for a decade of support and fundraising.
2025 marked a decade of support from Grand Station to The Haven Wolverhampton, with Grand Station’s Moulin Rouge-themed Christmas party nights that ran throughout December raising vital funds through selling raffle tickets to festive partygoers, on top of a contribution from all ticket sales.
It meant that £7,390 was raised, which will go directly towards running The Haven’s life-saving services for women and children to help them to overcome the trauma of abuse.
Its services include The Haven Hub helpline support over the phone, online and in person, its safe accommodation, community outreach, support for children, and recovery services such as counselling and substance use support.
Laura Rogers, chief executive at The Haven Wolverhampton, said: “Grand Station is one of Wolverhampton’s most premier venues and to be selected as its official Christmas charity partner for the 10th year in a row means so much to us.
"The amount we raised this year in total is truly heart-warming and represents the generosity of our local community.
“The events themselves were so much fun and so well organised. Our team loved being a part of the festivities, and to see people enjoying themselves while giving back is, for us, the true meaning of Christmas.
"The support will help the women and children massively.”

Danny Thompson, director of sales and development at Grand Station, said: “We are so thrilled by the success of our Le Grand Moulin Christmas parties as we’ve had thousands of people come through our doors to enjoy the fantastic atmosphere and an evening filled with music, entertainment, food, and company. It’s clear that everyone had an amazing time.
“While we are enjoying ourselves over the festive period, we also acknowledge that not everyone has access to life’s luxuries that many of us can take for granted.
"That’s why our team at Grand Station have been committed to giving back to the community and those who need it the most.
"We are so proud to have been a longstanding partner of The Haven, helping it to raise money through our events and Christmas celebrations, raising tens of thousands of pounds over the years.
"We know this support has made a huge difference and we thank everyone who helped us to raise these impressive funds.”
Ms Rogers also said: “We couldn't be more grateful to Danny and the whole team at Grand Station and we wholeheartedly thank them for everything they have done this past decade.
"We also extend our thanks to Scott Lyons, the host for the Grand Station’s Christmas parties, for his support.
"We couldn’t continue to make the positive impact that we do without the efforts of supporters like them.”
