'Delays to service' as police vehicles block tram tracks in Wolverhampton

Metro services in Wolverhampton have been delayed due to police vehicles blocking the tracks.

West Midlands Metro have warned of delays to services due to police vehicles blocking the tram lines between Wolverhampton Station and Pipers Row. 

The warning was issued by the metro authority at around 4.31pm today, with the group warning that all trams leaving Wolverhampton will now instead depart from St George's stop.

A Metro spokesperson said: "Due to police vehicles blocking the track, there is currently no service to Wolverhampton Station and Pipers Row. 

"All trams leaving Wolverhampton are departing from St George's. 

"Trams in operation between Wolverhampton St George's and Edgbaston Village."

Emergency services have been approached for more information.
