Wolverhampton brothers charged with Christmas Day murder of Trey Johnson

Two brothers have been charged with the murder of Trey Johnson in Wolverhampton on Christmas Day.

Mr Johnson, aged 30, was found seriously injured in Burcot Avenue just after 3.30am. He had been stabbed and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Richard Beckles, aged 19, and Tiego Beckles, aged 20, were arrested on Wednesday, January 7, and have now been charged with murder, wounding with intent, and threatening someone with a bladed article in a public place.

The men, both from Wolverhampton, are due at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court later today (January 9).

Det Insp Michelle Cordell, from West Midlands Police's Homicide team, said: “This is a significant development in our investigation, which is continuing.

“We are still keen to hear from anyone with information about what happened – and would urge anyone who has not yet done so to please get in touch.”
