Buses diverted due to 'vehicle and pedestrian' congeston near Molineux Stadium

Three bus services have been diverted from around the Molineux Stadium due to pedestrian and vehicle congestion.

National Express West Midlands has warned of diversions to its regular routes due to congestion around Wolverhampton's Molineux Stadium.

The transport group announced the diversions at around 6.35pm, alerting that Services three, four and 62 will be diverted in both directions.

The services will now instead follow Stafford Road and Ring Road, St Peter's.

A National Express West Midlands spokesperson said: "Due to vehicle and pedestrian congestion around Molineux Stadium. Services 3, 4 and 62 are diverted in both directions.

"Both directions will be diverted via: Stafford Street and Ring Road, St Peter's.

"Apologies for any inconvenience caused to your journey."

It came as Old Gold fans called for a protest to take place outside of the Molineux ahead of Wolves' face-off with Manchester United, with the fans group the 'Old Gold Pack' initially calling on home supporters to boycott the first 15 minutes of the fixture.
