Rob Clark, who is the managing director at Newstead Clark Financial Services, Wolverhampton, swam 640 lengths of a 25-metre pool in September, which is the equivalent of 10 miles.

In doing so, Mr Clark raised £4,968 for the charity Blesma, The Limbless Veterans, which supports current and former service men and women who have lost limbs or the use of their limbs.

Mr Clark said: “This cause is very close to my heart. During the Iraq war, I visited Selly Oak Hospital, where many injured servicemen and women were receiving treatment.

“Witnessing the devastating effects of war and the immense struggles faced by injured veterans left a lasting impression on me.

“It was always my intention one day to try and give something back.”

Mr Clark raised £2,484 from his network, which his financial services company then doubled to reach the final target just shy of £5,000.

“I cannot thank people enough for the donations,” he continued. “No matter the size, it makes a genuine difference to the lives of those who have sacrificed so much.

“The swim was challenging, but it is nothing compared to those who have been injured during war and have to live with it.

“It is a privilege for the business to be able to match everyone’s generous efforts, and I am overwhelmed by the support.”

Mr Clark is no stranger to raising money for good causes. In 2024 and 2023, he and members of the Newstead Clark team completed the Molineux Sleepout to raise money for the Wolves Foundation and the Good Shepherd charity.
