Lidl gets permission for 24,500 sq ft store on former Wolverhampton sausage works site, creating 40 jobs

Retail giant Lidl has been told it can build a supermarket and housing development on the site of a former abattoir and sausage factory.

Wolverhampton planners have granted approval for plans to build a 24,500 sq ft food store and up to 17 homes on the site of the former F A Gill works on the corner of Parkfield Road and Birmingham New Road.

Full planning permission was granted for the supermarket, although the precise details of the housing development will still need further approval.
