Buses diverted as Wolverhampton road closed in one direction for two weeks for gas renewal works
A Wolverhampton road will be closed in one direction for the next fortnight so gas renewal works can be carried out.
National Express West Midlands (NXWM) has warned of diversions to regular travel due to gas mains renewal works on Lea Road, Wolverhampton.
The road will be closed in one direction between Upper Zoar Street and Penn Road from today (August 11) to August 25, with NXWM's number 2 service diverted for the duration.
A spokesperson said: "From Monday, August 11 until Monday, August 15 Lea Road will be closed in one direction between Upper Zoar Street and Penn Road for gas main renewal works.
"During this time, service 2 will be diverted."
The diversions will see buses heading towards Bushbury Hill continue along Penn Road, and not serve Lea Road.
Heading towards Warstones, buses will follow the normal route.
The diversions are due to end on Monday, August 25.
