Top detective investigating Wolverhampton drive-by shooting vows to track criminals using firearms

Detectives investigating a drive-by shooting have pledged to track down criminals involved in firearms attacks as the images of the four men involved was released.

The group were locked up after a man suffered an arm injury when he was struck by pellets outside in Stowheath Lane, Stow Heath, in Wolverhampton, at about 10.15pm on July 22, 2021.

Detective Inspector Craig Newey, of West Midlands Police Force CID Major Crime Team based in Wolverhampton, said their actions were "totally unacceptable". Three of those responsible were sentenced to detention at young offenders' institute.

Ian Ferguson, 19, of Coronation Road, in Tipton, was a passenger in a stolen distinctive Fiat 500 and was responsible for pulling the trigger of the .410 gun. He was given for eight years detention for possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life.
