West Midlands Police were also in attendance to close the road.

It came as a band of rain, sleet and snow swept though the region.

Public transport was being diverted away from the area due to the closure. West Midlands Network tweeted: "Due to a police road closure at Compton Square, Compton; National Express West Midlands 10 is on a diversion in both directions.

"Services will divert via Paget Road, Tettenhall Road, and Henwood Road.

"Stops on Compton Road West will be missed."
