Pay tribute to lost little ones by taking part in gathering
A virtual event has been organised to pay tribute to the lives of babies who have died prematurely.

Wave of Light will allow parents, siblings and families to reflect and remember those infants who passed away as part of an international day of remembrance.
The event was first held last year at St Joseph’s Church in Wolverhampton and allowed people to come into the building, light a candle, meet other families and share their experiences.
This year, the event on October 15 will take on a virtual setting due to the coronavirus pandemic, with Father Craig Fullard, parish priest of St Newman Cluster, leading the broadcast from inside St Joseph’s Church.
He said: “I’m the chair of the trustees of Looking After Parents and Siblings (LAPS) and we as a group decided we still wanted to give parents a chance to remember their little ones.
“Therefore, we decided to do it virtually and will be asking parents and families to email or telephone in with the name of their little one if they wish for them to be remembered out loud during the hour.

“We can also light a candle for them and the gathering will be broadcast on our Facebook and YouTube pages, so parents can watch us light a candle in their child’s memory.”
Father Fullard said the event last year had been received very positively.
He said: “It is open to people of all faith and will allow people to make their own memories and have their own thoughts, as well as the camera showing the candles from one side of the church to another. It really is a very simple gathering.”
For a child’s name to be read out, email stnewmancluster.wmids@rcaob.org.uk with your name, the name of the child and a contact number.
