Two macaws from the free flying display team at Wild Zoological Park in Halfpenny Green have disappeared after strong winds hit them during a display on Sunday.

Members of the public have been urged to keep an eye out for the brightly-coloured birds.

Macaws have previously gone missing from the park last July.

And Holly the wallaby went missing in August 2018 and was spotted by police close to a nearby Sainsbury's.

A spokesman from the park said: "We have two macaws from our free flying display team missing and likely to still be close by in the area (Bobbington/Wombourne).

"They just can’t find their way home after wind hit us half way through a display.

"These parrots are large and green with a red patch on top of their heads.

"Any sightings please immediately contact us. 07540123917 and 07889723567.

"We did have two parrots out for a few days in early summer last year which have been flying in shows since.

"These are not the same birds although they are used to flying twice a day, every day.

"Any help and sightings will be gratefully received."
