Fire at scrapyard in Willenhall - road reopened after locals were urged to ‘avoid the area’

Fire crews dealt a fire in Willenhall at a scrap yard in the early hours of Sunday

West Midlands Fire Service has been tackling a blaze at a scrap yard in Willenhall since around 2am this morning (Sunday).

In its latest update WMFS said they had left the scene at Clarkes Lane by 10am, but would be returning later this morning to check on the incident.

No injuries have been reported.

At around 3am WMFS said it had six crews and one hydraulic platform.

It also said that Clarkes Lane is closed and urged locals to avoid the area - that was at around 3am.

WMFS has told the Express & Star that they have now left the scene and that crews would be going back out to check on the incident this morning.

They said no one had been injured.
