'I think we are all a bit shocked to be honest': Residents react after body of man found in 'quiet' Willenhall green space

Residents of a 'quiet' road in Willenhall have shown their sorrow after the body of a man was discovered on a stretch of green space near their addresses.

West Midlands Police were called to the scene of Delamere Road, Willenhall, at around 7.30am after the body of a man was discovered in a small park near the road.

The man is yet to be identified by police, with the scene situated less than one mile away from New Invention Infant School.

Officers were said to have left the scene only a few hours after making the initial discovery; however, an appeal for information has since been launched to establish exactly what happened.

Now, residents have shown their shock and sorrow at the sudden death, with many saying that it was 'the first time' anything like that had happened near their road. 

Mr Adrian Wright, a resident of the area who frequents the green space, said: "I haven't seen anything like this here before.
