The first of six of brownfield sites in Moat Street in Willenhall is being knocked down to make way for over 100 new homes to breathe new life into the area after a spate of fires and reports of anti-social behaviour.

The dilapidated industrial unit is among a swathe of sites were acquired by Walsall Council in 2025 following a Compulsory Purchase Order.

Deputy Leader Councillor Adrian Andrew said: “It’s great to see these derelict eyesores start to come down in Willenhall, they’ve been a blight on the community for too long and this is a major step forward in laying the groundwork for a future that Willenhall truly deserves.
