Crews from Bloxwich, Fallings Park, Walsall, Bilston and Tipton were called to the scene to tackle the blaze, which is believed to have been caused by a lithium battery in one of the yard's bays.

Andrew Alexander, company director at Alexander Brothers Metal Recycling, said: "We believe it was a lithium battery in one of our bays.

"It's all done and dusted now fortunately and we're back up and running.

"It was contained within one of the bays so it couldn't spread, and that's because of the fire retardant panels around them all in case something like this happens."
