The Pelsall community got into the Christmas spirit early as the parish church threw its doors open for the festive season.

A Christmas market was hosted at St Michaels and All Angels Church on Saturday (November 29) and featured something for everyone.

Santa Claus and his horse made an early appearance ahead of their busy Christmas schedule and there were stalls ranging from crafts to cakes to bottles, bric a-brac and tombola as well as games and face painting for the children.

The Lichfield Three Spires Morris dancers also performed for visitors and passersby, and vicar Alison Morris said it was a great occasion.

She said: "We always throw our doors open in the Christmas period to celebrate a very important time of year and it was great to see the Pelsall commuity once more come out in force and enjoy the fellowship this brings."
