Outline plans for the Longwood Lane development have now been approved by the government Planning Inspectorate, which was called in following an appeal by developers William Davis Homes after Walsall Council refused the scheme in June 19.

The council had cited inappropriate development on the green belt, concerns over increased traffic and issues around wildlife habitats and trees.

Objections were received by 235 members of the public, statutory consultees and Walsall Council’s planning officers.

But the decision was overruled by the Planning Inspectorate after a seven-day hearing in December.

The peaceful protest will take place at The Croft on February 28 at 12pm.
