Walsall man arrested after woman dies following Staffordshire collision involving grey Audi

A Walsall man has been arrested following a fatal collision in Staffordshire.

Emergency services were called to the scene of Barton Gate, Staffordshire, at around 10.45pm on February 28 following reports of a collision involving a grey Audi.

On arrival, emergency services discovered the involved vehicles; however, Sian Sanghera, 33, was pronounced dead at the scene. Staffordshire Police reassured that her next of kin are being supported by specialist officers.

A 32-year-old man, from the Walsall area, has now been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and causing death by driving without due care and attention / reasonable consideration while unfit through drink.

He has been bailed with conditions whilst police investigations continue. 

An appeal for information into the crash is ongoing, with anyone with CCTV images, doorbell, or dashcam footage of the area at the time of the crash asked to contact Staffordshire Police via their 101 number, quoting incident log 920 of 28 February.

A force spokesperson said: "We were called at 10.45pm on Saturday, 28 February to Barton Gate following reports of a collision involving a grey Audi.

"Sadly, Sian Sanghera, 33, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her next of kin are being supported by specialist officers.

"We are appealing for anyone with CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage of the area at the time to contact us. Call 101, quoting incident 920 of 28 February, or use Live Chat on our website."
