A crash near M6 junction 9 is causing delays on Bescot Road - drivers are advised to 'plan ahead'.

As of 12:30pm on Monday, all lanes closed on approach and on the roundabout due to the collision.

Drivers travelling today (March, 9) are advised to expect delays and plan ahead for alternative routes where possible.

West Midlands Ambulance Service has confirmed to the Express & Star that a road traffic incident had taken place today which had involving two HGVs and a van on the M6 junction 9 in Walsall. One ambulance was at the scene, and one driver was later treated at nearby Walsall Manor hospital. 

A spokesperson shared: “We were called at 11.22am to a road traffic collision involving two HGVs and a van on the M6 junction 9 in Walsall. One ambulance attended the scene. Upon arrival we found a man who was the driver of one of the HGVs. He was assessed and had sustained potentially serious injuries. He received treatment at the scene before being conveyed to Walsall Manor Hospital for further assessment.”

West Midlands Police has also been contacted for a comment.
