More traffic chaos on M6 after crash between lorry and cars leaves several lanes closed near Walsall
Motorists heading up the M6 were left facing more delays after a collision caused three lanes to be closed.
National Highways reported that three lanes had been closed on the northbound carriageway between Junction 10 for Wolverhampton and Walsall and 10A for the M54 just after 5.13pm due to the collision, which involved a lorry and two cars.
The collision had led to delays rapidly building along the approach to the collision area, with motorists urged to allow extra time for journeys and to consider alternative routes where possible.
A spokesman for National Highways said at 5.13pm: "Three lanes of four are closed due to a collision involving a lorry and two cars, with delays rapidly building."

A spokesman for West Midlands Roads said: "A road traffic collision on the M6 northbound between junctions J10 and J11 has seen three lanes of four closed with delays up to 20 minutes against expected traffic.
"Please plan ahead to allow extra time for your journey and consider alternative routes where possible."
A further update at 5.38pm said that traffic had been stopped to allow the vehicles to be removed from the site.

The update said: "Following the earlier collision, traffic has been halted so the vehicles can be moved to safety.
"45 minutes of delay and four miles of congestion."
A final update at 6.18pm confirmed that all lanes had been reopened and, while there were still residual delays, the carriageway was back running as normal.
The update read: "Following the earlier collision, delays still on approach but they're starting to ease."
