Walsall man was airlifted to Birmingham hospital after suffering 'serious injuries' in e-scooter accident

A man was airlifted from Walsall to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham after suffering serious injuries while riding an E-Scooter.

Police and paramedics rushed to the precinct off Queen Elizabeth Avenue in Bentley shortly after 7pm on Saturday (August 16). 

A Midlands Air Ambulance helicopter was seen flying in the vicinity at about 7.30pm, before taking off from nearby playing fields shortly after 8pm.

A spokeswoman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called to Churchill Road, Walsall at 6.58pm on Saturday 16th August. An ambulance and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Tatenhill responded to the scene to find a man who had been injured whilst riding an e-scooter.

"The man had sustained serious injuries and required trauma care to stabilise his condition on scene.

"The man was then airlifted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham for further specialist trauma care."
