The 15-year-old, from Walsall, died after getting into trouble in the lake at Ryders Hayes Mears on Tuesday night.

Tributes have been pouring in for the 'role model' teenager and now two fundraising pages have been set up to raise money for the Hurst family and to help pay for funeral costs.

In total the two pages, both set up late on Wednesday night, are looking to raise £5,000.

The first page, set up by Walsall Wood Amateur Boxing Club in conjunction with Pleck Boxing Club, where Spencer used to box, is looking to raise £1,000. At the time of writing it has raised £1,180.

Shiney Singh, from Pleck Boxing Club, said: "Obviously Spencer's death has come as a surprise for everyone and that leaves the family ill prepared to pay for a funeral and as Spencer was a member of our club we felt it was our duty to support the family and make sure he gets the funeral he deserves.

"I have never done a fundraising page before so Walsall Wood ABC have kindly offered to set the page up on our behalf."

The Justgiving page is in the name of Carlton Gower, a member of Walsall Wood ABC.

He said: "On June 20 we lost a shining star. Too young to pass away with all his life before him, Spencer was involved in a tragic heartbreaking accident.

"He was a lovely lad, polite and brave. A real tough old school boxer, always ready to box without notice never asking who or where and he always left it all in the ring.

"Spencer is survived by his older sister Hollie, who is understandably broken by this tragedy and his mum and dad.

"This is our chance to help hold his memory in the highest regard possible and help in the only way we as a community can. Please donate to help send him off the best way this talented and massively loved lad deserves."

The second page, set up by Julie Dixon-Evans, hopes to raise £4,000 for Spencer's family but is yet to receive any donations.

She said: "Spencer Hurst a young 15 year old tragically lost his life. Please let us help his family with costs, no one expects to bury their own child."

To donate to either page, visit www.justgiving.com and search Spencer Hurst.

As well as the two fundraising pages, a kickboxing gym is opening up its doors later this month to help raise money for Spencer's family.

Bentley Freestylers Kickboxing and Mixed Martial Arts Fitness Centre, based on the Victoria Industrial Estate in Darlaston, is inviting people down to train and donate to help out the Hurst family on Wednesday June 28.
