The crash, between a black Vauxhall and a black Audi, happened at the junction of Willenhall Lane and Moorland Road in Dudley Fields, Walsall, around 10.13am today.

A crew from Bloxwich Fire Station attended confirming a female patient had to be extricated on a long board.

They released an image of the scene in the immediate aftermath which showed the cars still lodged to each other at the front bumper.

The bonnet of the Audi was more visibly crumpled than the Vauxhall which had a safety warning attached to it by firefighters because the air bag had not deployed at the point of impact.

West Midlands Ambulance Service also sent an ambulance to tend to two people.

The incidents is still ongoing.
