Around 10,000 people visit Stafford for 'magical' Christmas lights switch on event

Britain's Got Talent magician Jack Rhodes helped to flip the switch on this year's Stafford Christmas lights switch-on event.

The Mayor of Stafford Borough, Councillor Jenny Barron, was joined by magician Jack Rhodes, Father Christmas, panto actors, and more than 10,000 guests as the switch was flipped on this year's Stafford town centre Christmas lights switch-on.

The festive afternoon kicked off with a range of live entertainment and music before the crowd took part in the traditional countdown to the flipping of the switch.

As the final second passed, hundreds of colourful festive lights were illuminated on the 40ft decorated Christmas tree in the centre of the Square, followed by a grand firework display at the town's Guildhall.
