D&G Bus will introduce the bus service between Stafford, Weston, Uttoxeter, Rocester, Denstone, Alton and Alton Towers Resort on Saturday.

The new service – X41 – will operate daily, when Alton Towers Resort’s Theme Park is open to the public and is designed to connect with national rail services, at Stafford (0925) and Uttoxeter (1005).

Dave Reeves, managing director of D&G, said: “This is a commercial venture for us and unless people use the service it won’t be sustainable, so please use it.

"We need bums on seats, so come on folks have a great day out at Alton Towers Resort and a ride on a D&G Bus – you know it makes sense”.

The service calls at all stops between Stafford and Weston, then operates non-stop to Uttoxeter Railway Station observing all stops between Uttoxeter Railway Station and Alton Towers Resort.

Kevin Crawford, operations director, said: “It is extremely rewarding to be able to launch another new local bus service. We’ve been listening to feedback about there not being a direct bus service, which the X41 will now provide.

"In addition to providing journeys for visitors to the popular Alton Towers Resort, the X41 will also provide journeys timed specifically to meet shift patterns for employees travelling between Uttoxeter, Rocester, Denstone and Alton Towers Resort.

"We would encourage as many people as possible to use the service, to ensure its long-term viability along with helping to free-up the roads through the local countryside to Alton Towers Resort.”
