'Help prevent fires' - Staffordshire fire chiefs issue warning over cleaning after blaze in chimney
People are being reminded people to clean their chimney regularly after crews tackled a chimney fire in South Staffordshire.
Crews were called at 7.45pm on Sunday 30 November to a house off Straight Mile, Calf Heath following reports of a fire.
One appliance attended the scene and found a chimney well alight.

Crews used a hearth kit to clear the fireplace before using a hose reel jet and chimney rods to extinguish the fire - nobody was reported injured.
Staffordshire Fire and Rescue crew manager Mathew Lewis said: “As the weather gets colder, residents might be considering lighting the fire.
“We strongly recommend that chimneys are cleaned regularly to help prevent fires.
“Burning materials such as wood should also be kept away from the fire and always keep matches and lighters out of the reach of children.”
