An application has been submitted to South Staffordshire Council for a new burial ground in Perton.

Celia Wilson has lodged the plans for South Perton Farm in Jenny Walkers Lane.

A statement issued on behalf of Mrs Wilson said permission was previously granted for a cemetery at the site in 2001, but the scheme was never completed.

It said the latest plan was almost identical to the previous one, with proposals for 24 car parking spaces, and using an access road that was granted permission in 2003.

"Whilst there would be no limit on numbers attending a service, it is expected there would typically be 20 people," the statement said.

" Should additional parking be necessary because of a busy service, then additional informal parking will also be available on-site to accommodate for these infrequent events."

The proposals will now be considered by South Staffordshire Council planners.
