Hednesford centenarian celebrates 100th birthday at care home party with friends and family
A 100-year-old from Hednesford can look forward to Christmas and reflect on a card she received from the King and Queen to celebrate her birthday.
Bessie Lobley was born on December 22, 1925 and now lives at Littleton Lodge Care Home where residents and staff held a celebration on her birthday, attended also by family including her daughter and granddaughter.

Bessie, who cared for disabled people as a job, lived in Lichfield and Burntwood with her late husband Eric, but two years ago moved into Littleton Lodge where she enjoys games of bingo and dominoes.

Her daughter Gillian Court said she 'loves the community feel' of the place and added: "It was a nice celebration of mum's 100th and everyone joined in and looked at her card from the palace and the other ones she received as well as of course enjoying the cake."
