'No injuries' after lorry and car crash on 'death trap' Cannock roundabout

A lorry and a car were involved in a crash on a roundabout in Cannock this morning (Tuesday, March 24).

The two-vehicle collision occurred just after 10.30am on the Orbital roundabout in Cannock.

A photo posted on Facebook this morning from Corkys Cars taxi service shows a DHL lorry and a damaged Ford Fiesta car, with emergency services at the scene.

A spokesperson from Corkys Cars said: "The lorry was trying to leave the island. The island is a death trap.

"There are always so many accidents on it."

Staffordshire Police told the Express & Star: "We were called to Walsall Road, Cannock, just after 10.30am today following a two-vehicle collision involving a car and a lorry.

"No injuries have been reported."

Walsall Road is one of the roads served by the major roundabout.

The roundabout is a major junction on the A460/Eastern Way, often called the Orbital Way.

It serves the busy Orbital Retail Park and surrounding areas, and the area is known for significant traffic.
