Prosecution and defence in trial of Staffordshire woman accused of murdering her ex-partner sum up case
Counsel for alleged murderer Kirsty Carless and for the prosecution have summed up their cases to the jury.
The jury was told in stark terms at Stafford Crown Court on Friday (July 25) they will need to determine whether Carless is guilty or not guilty of murdering her ex-partner.
The 33-year-old Staffordshire mother has already admitted unlawfully killing father-of-six Louis Price during a violent argument on Christmas Day last year in Cannock.
The outcome of the trial will determine whether Carless is sentenced for murder or the lesser charge of manslaughter.

Prosecutor Jonas Hankin KC and Carless's counsel Michelle Heeley KC both spent at least 90 minutes addressing the jury on Friday.
The day's proceedings ended with Miss Heeley KC making an emotional plea to the jury to find her client innocent of murder.
