Plans for hundreds of new homes in Burntwood
Hundreds of new homes could be built in Burntwood under new plans after a screening opinion application was submitted to Lichfield District Council for proposed residential development for land north of Rake Hill.
Hourigan Planning's request will ascertain whether an environmental impact assessment would be required as part of a request for full planning permission for the development in the future.
A full outline application is expected to be submitted in the first quarter of 2026 and could see up to 225 new homes built with 43 per cent being affordable.
New homes on the site would be energy efficient and come with an electric vehicle charging point.
Should the scheme progress to full application it would see access points and infrastructure also built including realignment of the existing Meg Lane/Ogley Hay Road junction with a new right turn lane on Ogley Hay Road for access onto Meg Lane.
