Staffordshire's Spudman to give away hundreds of free jacket potatoes in rail company team-up

The iconic Spudman, aka Ben Newman, is all set to give away hundreds of his beloved loaded jacket potatoes at three locations, including his hometown of Tamworth.

The event will see Spudman hand over 730 of his iconic loaded jackets, as he teams up with London Northwestern Railway to promote their new fleet of Class 730 trains.

Spudman is a widely loved internet celeb, having more than 4 million followers on TikTok, including 110.4 million likes, and more than 1 million Facebook followers. 

The month-long collaboration will see Spudman dish out 730 free 'loaded' potatoes at three named locations across the Trent Valley Line. 

The locations include Milton Keynes Outdoor Market, on Saturday, February 21, Crewe's Town Square, on Saturday, February 28, and his home turf of St Editha's Square, Tamworth, on Saturday, March 7.

Spuman said: "Lots of our customers use the trains to come and see us. We've teamed up with LNR, and we're going to do a little tour around the country, and we are doing pop-ups at three locations.

"At each location, we are going to have a special potato, it's going to be called the 730 spud, and every one of those sold, the profit is going to be donated to men's mental health."
