Staffordshire County Council cabinet member steps down 'due to family bereavement'
Councillor Chris Large has stepped down due to a family bereavement.
Staffordshire County Council has announced that Councillor Chris Large has stepped down as the cabinet member for finance and resources following a family bereavement.
Councillor Large was also the group leader for Reform UK, with acting leader of the council, Councillor Martin Murray, saying that he had done 'a tremendous job' in his role, adding a word of thanks for his efforts.

Acting leader of the council, Councillor Marting Murray, said: "Chris has done a tremendous job as Cabinet Member for Finance and Resources, leading work on the council's budget and efficiency review.
"I'd like to thank Chris personally for everything he has done, and offer my wholehearted support to his decision. Family must come first.
"I know people will want to wish him well, and give Chris the time and space he needs to look after his family."
Councillor Murray will continue as Acting Leader of Staffordshire County Council, and will select a new Cabinet Member for Finance and Resources imminently.
Councillor Large will continue to represent residents as County Councillor for Brewood.
