There were goody bags and giveaways for the first customers and a selection of edible treats prepared by the village’s artisan bakery Medicine.

Speaking to guests on opening day, Megan Barrow said: “It’s a great pleasure to see a fresh new business arrive in Codsall and I’m sure the community will welcome the Tipton with open arms.

“We’re not only welcoming a business, but also people who care about the village and its people."

The new Codsall branch has opened in a former beauty salon, which the Tipton was able to transform in less than three months with the support of West Bromwich-based shopfitters Esprit UK.

The Tipton’s chief executive Adam Evetts added: “Codsall is a vibrant village, well connected and with a really strong sense of local community. Our vision is to have a positive impact on everyone we interact with and we can’t wait to see this brought to life in Codsall.”

The opening has created four jobs, including two full-time customer service advisors, one part-time customer service advisor and a branch leader.
