Police probe launched after woman dies following Stafford collision

Staffordshire Police has appealed for help after a woman died following a collision in Stafford.

Staffordshire Police is appealing for information after a car hit a tree in Stafford.

Officers were called to Teddesley Road in Newtown, towards Penkridge, at around 8am on Thursday, to reports of a collision.

The emergency service crews found a woman who had been involved in the crash, and despite the efforts of medical teams she was pronounced dead by medics a short time later. Her next of kin have been informed.

Now, the force has asked anyone with information relating to the incident to get in touch directly using 101, or alternatively, on the Live Chat service on the force website, quoting reference number 110 of October 16.

A Staffordshire Police spokesperson said: "Officers are appealing for information after a woman sadly died following a collision in the Stafford area yesterday.

"We were called at 8am on Thursday (October 16) to Teddesley Road in Newtown, towards Penkridge, following reports of a collision.

"A vehicle was involved in a collision with a tree. A woman was pronounced dead by medics a short time later.

"Anyone who saw what happened or who may have relevant dashcam footage should contact us on 101 quoting incident number 110 of October 16."
