Sharon Brissett, a senior sister at the University Hospitals of North Midlands (UNHM) NHS Trust, will feature on the star's December podcast 'At Home with the Williamses', with the singer's wife Ayda Field.

She spoke to the couple about a range of topics including how the Covid-19 pandemic has affected the hospital trust, growing up in Stoke-on-Trent and a mutual love of oatcakes.

Watch Sharon chatting with Robbie and his wife:

Sharon said: "It was absolutely fantastic. Before the call I had so many mixed feelings, but they are such lovely people, really nice and made me feel at ease.

"They are genuinely interested in what’s happening within the NHS and what’s happening to people during this pandemic.

"I am really thankful they can do something like this and hope people enjoyed listening to the podcast.”

The video call was arranged by UHNM Charity as part of its Virtual Christmas Present Appeal.

Lisa Thomson, director of communications and charity at UHNM said: “Sharon was amazing. She works with a great team, and we have many great teams across UHNM, so it was such a difficult to just ask one member of staff because there are so many that give of themselves day after day in very difficult circumstances.

“We are so grateful to you both for sharing time with us, and we hope to one day welcome them in person to our trust.”

At Home with the Williamses is available from all major podcast providers.

UHNM Charity launched its annual Christmas appeal in November and is this year asking supporters to make a donation online or by text rather than in person.
